The YDA Southeast Region will hold its Fall Conference on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Conference will be campaign-oriented, helping our neighbors at the Young Democrats of North Carolina with a campaign invasion and compiling a list of priority races in each state to coordinate resources across the region.
The Conference is free of charge, but Region officials want participants to register. You can do so at this link.
Members of the Young Democrats of South Carolina met August 27 in Columbia to amend the YDSC Constitution to split the office of Vice President into the offices of First and Second Vice President.
In April's spring Convention, Nia McCray of Richland County and then-Secretary Jeni Atchley of Dorchester County entered two more rounds of voting at the Executive Board Elections in Aiken--and tied both times. President Bree Maxwell brokered a deal with them both for the Convention to elect them both on the condition that a Constitutional Convention was called that summer to formalize their offices.
McCray, the First Vice President, will work with Outreach Director Jessica Bright to increase YDSC membership and plan training sessions across the state, while Atchley, the Second Vice President, will work on policy issues--both inside and outside our organization.
